I’m really honored and excited that this blog is a Plutus Award finalist for the Best Personal Finance Blog for Women. If you’d love some other awesome blogs to check out- give Finance Girl, Smart Money Chicks, Girls Just Wanna Have Funds and Financially Wise Women, the fellow finalists are all amazing!
If anything, being even considered makes me so motivated. I’ve been figuring out where to go personally and professionally for some time, and the plan for the blog has been equally scattered. Initially, I began blogging to talk about living on an extreme $800 a month budget while in graduate school, and then, to blog about paying off my student loans. Later, I was saving up $20,000 in a year for a debt free wedding, and it usually meant I worked around the clock and cut any sort of frill from my life. After I called off the wedding and later I got laid off, I felt like I didn’t have a goal- I was just sort of getting by. I just wanted to get out and travel while I sorted my life out, and now that I have a bit, I need to find balance. Personally, I need to find a new goal, and I think that goal will help me find new content to write about.
Additionally, the reader survey was really enlightening. I’ve come back to the blog with new ideas and an attitude of service, and I am humbled by your praises, your critiques and all of your honest feedback, thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts.
The winner of the beauty goodie bag from the reader survey was Samantha A.! (She’s been contacted via email)
