My birthday is next week. I think I turn 28, but since 25 has come and gone, I haven’t really kept score. Maybe I’ll care again when it’s easier to count? Maybe at 30. This year, I have all I could really want- a great husband-to-be and a wedding to plan, a great job and two rescue pugs who keep me busy with training and playtime. The blog is growing, huzzah! I’m pretty darn happy.
Plus, I’m on a tight budget since we’re about 8k away from our wedding savings goal, so I really need to batten the hatches and save some coin for our big party in 2015. Sometimes, when you can’t buy anything, it’s fun to assemble a wishlist of stuff you would buy if you had the cash. It’s nice to dream eh?
A few weeks ago, I stumbled in an camera shop in Chicago and was introduced to the Diana-F and really am intrigued by the idea of spending a day with a film camera, taking pictures the old fashioned way. In a world where pictures are instant and almost anything can be fixed with Photoshop, I’ve been longing for the nostalgia of an adorable film camera.
Additionally, I’ve found some common themes in my obsessions: summer essentials like strappy sandals, sunnies & lace. I’m obsessed with lace! I also seem to love cobalt blue and coral.
Seriously, is that striped tote not the cutest? I saw it in Nordstrom a few weeks ago when my groom was looking for wedding suits. It just makes me happy! I’ve also been wanting some new running gear and those gold headphones are totally superfluous, but they make the list because I’ve been hankering for a fancy pair…even if they aren’t $199 fancy.
I have amazing friends in my life and great people all around. Let me count a few blessings: my network of hardworking and determined blogger friends. The fact a coworker came to my rescue a few weeks ago and helped us do our engagement session. My amazing set of 5 bridesmaids who have all been special parts of each chapter of my life, and I am so lucky to have them on my bridal dream team. My family and soon to be “married” family who have been so supportive of all of my crazy endeavors, I cannot wait to share many more birthdays with all of you.
