Maybe you’re not getting married right this second, but I had to share this with you since it’s straight from my heart! I had to come up with a cute way to ask my bridesmaids to be in my wedding and since none of them share the same zipcode as yours truly, I wanted it to be extra special since I couldn’t give them a super over-the-top mushy hug and blubbery walrus voice (since you know, I tear up at the drop of a dime).
Asking someone to be a bridesmaid is a huge personal and financial commitment it isn’t cheap to be a bridesmaid! No matter how you ask, as long as you do it with heart, it’ll be a sweet moment for both you and your potential wedding party- but if you’re looking for a little something extra, feel free to take a page from my book.
So, obviously, you get how you “pop” the question eh? Grab a bunch of pop, put it in a box and either put it in the mail or stack it in a gift bag so your girls can figure out what’s going on as they unpack the gift bag, putting the card at the bottom.
My fiancé came up with the bubble wrap idea, “So they can pop it!” (he’s adorable right?) and I used it to wrap up the soda pop or champagne in bubble wrap with ribbon in my wedding colors (type A much?) and little heart rings.
I can’t even begin to tell you the amazing phone calls I got as my girls from all over the country came home to find their Pop Boxes. The cards I got from Etsy were so special- not only were they gorgeous, but putting in the “why” was so special for both the bride and the bridal party.
If you’re choosing someone to be in your bridal party, no matter how you ask, get mushy and let them know WHY. I have five bridesmaids and one honorary “mom of the bride,” and every time they opened a box and gave me call there were tears, smiles and intense warm fuzzies I will never forget- I sincerely hope that’s what the process feels like for you! The time you spend to put this together is worth it and just the beginning of a wonderful journey together.
Each of these cards were customized on the inside for the Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids and my honorary Mom of the Bride…filling them out was probably the best part of this project… truly a heartwarming moment for the bride to be!
So, as you know- this is the project I used to ask 6 amazing people to be a part of my wedding day, and they all said YES! 🙂
This is adorable! I can’t wait till I’m engaged haha =)
This is adorable! Love love love it! So fun!
I really love this. My friend sent her bridesmaids a Taste For Sweets subscription box (tasteforsweets.com) and depending on which snack item the bridesmaids liked the most, she decided to go on her honeymoon to the specific country where the most loved snack came from! It made her decision very exciting!
That is an adorable idea!
Wanted you to know that I love your story. I will be sharing some of your wedding posts on my social media.
Thanks and best wishes!
Who will say no when someone pops the question the way you did? That was an awesome idea! The bridesmaid box had several amazing things. Thanks Shannyn for sharing your experience with readers!
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it!
This is a wonderful idea and a beautiful story. That bubble wrap is so cute. Where did you find it?
These are very cute gift ideas.
