Desk essentials- chocolate chunk & chia granola bars & a rainbow of highlighters.
We are half way through the workweek people! Anyone else feel that some weeks, Wednesday is a triumph worthy of a beer and a high five, and other times, Wednesday still feels like pushing the boulder up the hill with no end in sight?
The dude and I have been working at putting in at least three days at the gym, even if we (meaning, me) can only do a slow 12:30 mile on the treadmill and some strength training. Then, one day on the weekend, we go hiking. I’m looking forward to busting out my triathlon bike and really covering some trail!
Of course, this increased activity means that I’m constantly thinking about food. Like, fantasizing about things that I typically don’t even care about- like deep dish pizza, or things I really love, like pad thai and dark chocolate. While I’m being mindful of my snacking, it’s still important that I get through the workday without being so hangry.
I got the opportunity to try a new snack routine with CVS this week, and so far it has been delicious:
Sparkling waters, they are still my favorite, and now CVS has a new flavor I hadn’t tried before- pineapple coconut. Yes and yes! They’re under $1 and I love them… they make life taste better! They have a variety of flavors, and I keep these at my desk and at home.
Next up is for when I’m having a sweet tooth- the dried coconut from the CVS Gold Emblem line is really good. It’s chewy and totally satisfying. I eat these straight up, but you could totally put them in with chia and yogurt. Great for a sweet craving without going completely overboard.
For when I need something crunchy- I dip these kale & spinach tortilla chips from CVS in some hummus or salsa, or I have a handful to hold me over until dinner. It’s weird, sometimes I need a small bite before a workout just to feel I’ve got something in the tank without feeling full- these do the trick!
They’re not online right now, but they’re available in store, and they’re delicious.
Popcorn. Dude. I seem to have a thing for sparkling water and popcorn. I don’t know why but it’s a habit I can’t quit. The white cheddar popcorn from the Gold Emblem Abound line at CVS wasn’t heavy and didn’t leave a bunch of cheese on my hands, so it’s a good snack that lives up to the “heavenly light” title.
I have been working with CVS as a blogger for about a year now, and I’m always happy to find that they’re updating their inventory regularly with healthy and fun new snacks that I can use on the trail or at the office and stock up when I pick up my cosmetics or prescriptions.
So, next time you’re on a road trip, or picking up your medications, stroll by the snack aisle and you may just find what you’re looking for!
Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy to promote their exclusive Gold Emblem and Gold Emblem abound snack lines. I am being sponsored by CVS Pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
Pretty photos! Looks yummy!
