I’ve Finally Made My Bucket List… Round 1.

I have been mulling over this bucket list for quite some time.  One of the biggest frustrations I had in putting it together is that I felt there was so much I don’t know about the world.  I kept pouring over bucket list ideas and lists of must-see places before you die- and the world seems so big, so rich with opportunity and vast…how could I ever assemble a list that’s comprehensive and complete at this point of my life, when I haven’t even utilized my passport before?

Yes, I seriously haven’t even used a passport.  I’ve been all over the country- to pretty much every state aside from Hawaii and Alaska. I’ve been to Canada and Mexico before a passport was required…but Mexico was Tijuana with a friend’s family and I would not recommend it, nor would I really count that as representative in the least of the awesome country that is Mexico…but due to limited international travel to draw upon, it is here for reference.

With a furrowed brow and a cold beer, I compiled a somewhat un-comprehensive bucket list, which will surely need revisions and additions as I learn more about the world.  Here is my first round.  I would absolutely love your suggestions of amazing things that should be added to my list so I can start tackling them!

Personal:

• Author a book.
• Start a six figure business.
• Get married. Delicately shove cake in my husband’s face and get the pleasure of taking him home every night.
• Save enough for a down payment on a house.
• Buy a house.
• …..with a porch swing.
• Be a guest at the White House.
• Go 30 days without sugar.
• Start a garden. Grow something delicious.  May or may not require a house.
• Get to stay at the Cinderella Castle Suite at Walt Disney World (which apparently is impossible to do).
• Own a piece of original artwork from Naoko Takeuchi- the creator of Sailor Moon. (which I also have no idea how that would happen).

Fun & Travel:

• Vacation in the Bahamas.
• Eat ramen at Tokyo Disney (with the Mickey shaped egg).
• Go to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Orlando.
• Fly first class.
• Get to dine at Club 33 at Disneyland.
• Attend a taping of SNL.
• Party at Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
• See a manatee in person.
• Get close to a Panda.
• Get an all-expenses paid trip media trip to a place that requires a passport.
• Kiss in front of the Eiffel Tower and see it glitter at night.
• Sleep in a villa over the water in Bora Bora. Roll out of bed, sip my coffee and dive directly into the water in my pajamas.
• Visit the lavender fields in France.
• Spend 2-3 weeks in Japan, exploring the traditions and the modern cultures of bustling Tokyo.
• Stay at the Pantone Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
• Stay at the Saguaro Palm Springs.  (done!)
• Swim in the Enchanted River in Surigao, Philippines.
• Go to a coffee farm in Hawaii.
• Visit Thailand.

Legacy:

• Record dad’s life story & get our family history.
• Adopt a child.
• Start a scholarship fund.
• Start a charity.
• Visit where my dad was from in Montreal, Quebec.
• Mentor a young woman to pay it forward.
• Have a professional family photo taken.  (never had one as a kid!)

I feel there is so much more on my list that I should do- but I think this is a good first attempt. There is so much to see in the world- I will need to add a bunch to this list once I figure out what else I want to do!  I have been looking over other people’s bucket lists for ideas, so I think I’ll have to keep pouring over them to get a good, comprehensive list.  I am obsessed with looking over bucket lists at the moment- so if you know of any good sites to get more ideas, let me know!
