Although it is with a heavy heart I put away my beach themed pillows and watermelon colored dishware, I have to admit that decorating for fall is by far the most fun. Before the overload of Santa Clauses hits you like a ton of bricks, the autumn-inspired decor items can offer a more subtle, yet beautiful, seasonal touch to any room.
Whether I’m picking up some gourds to place around the kitchen, or pinning together maroon and orange flowers for a new wreath, decorating for October can easily be done on a budget.
These DIY autumn decor items are perfect for a chilly Sunday afternoon sitting in front of the 1000th televised football game that weekend (just me?) or for a get-together with the girls over mulled wine. Instead of resorting to the Target dollar bin for gaudy pumpkin banners yet again, try out these crafts that include your own personal touch. If you’re really generous, make two and share with your neighbors. No such thing as too many homemade scarecrows to greet visitors.

How do you like to decorate for fall?
While I love the classic vase-filled-with mini pumpkins, I’m working on incorporating more textures into my displays. I have my eye on those burlap candles!
Fanstastic. I really like your DIY Crafts. 🙂
Please teach me. How did you do that? 🙂
