Life is an adventure, at least, it should be! During our trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we wanted lots of downtime to lounge at the pool and relax, but we also wanted to mix in something really special- a zip line adventure in the gorgeous mountains surrounding Puerto Vallarta.
Of course, we didn’t think anything could top the adventure of evacuating from Hurricane Patricia, but trust me, our Outdoor Adventure truly an amazing experience from start to finish!
We started our tour on a speedboat, and then worked our way up the mountain on an old Unimog- it was quite the experience! Of course, one thing I forgot to mention when I booked- to my partner and everyone else, that I kind of am freaked by horses. We had a 20+ minute mule ride to the location to start the zip lining portion of our tour, and I was a very, very brave person. Those are some serious mules. Seriously, serious.
Of course, it was worth it. Zip lining was nothing short of exhilarating. I had never been zip lining before, and honestly, it is an experience you cannot miss.
It was a full day of adventure, and we had a full zip lining tour, but also got to zip line down waterfalls, and into the water, even traversing down some rock faces alongside some gorgeous waterfalls.
In between zip lines, we got to cross over rope bridges and trek through the jungle- and there were snacks and water along the way to ensure we didn’t tucker out, it was really well planned.
One thing that I will say, is that this full day tour was exciting and fun from start to finish. The other trekkers remarked that we thought we’d get to the end of the tour after a zip line, and then there’d be a waterslide or a new surprise- like a “surf adventure” where we got to zip line together on a surfboard, or got to zipline upside down! Honestly, it was a great value for the money, it was jam packed and really well done.
During our tour, we were followed by a photographer to capture these awesome memories, and I was really excited that with my thumb drive purchase, I could also get video and some prints:
Purchasing the thumb drive with all the photos was worth every penny since you can’t (and really, shouldn’t) take cameras or phones on the tour. You get to focus on having fun and feeling the adrenaline, and after the tour wraps, you can enjoy complimentary hibiscus juice, chips, salsa and even some quesadillas for purchase. It was really an amazing and unforgettable day!
If you ever get the chance (well, or you make the chance) to visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico- I highly recommend you take a break from the sunshine and bottomless margaritas of your resort and go for the adventure of a lifetime.
The Outdoor Adventure is $109 per adult, and honestly- that’s a steal of a price for al that you get (a boat ride, offroad adventure, riding burros, about 6 zip lines, rappelling down waterfalls, waterslides and some snacks). Plus, the views are absolutely stunning, an essential tour in Mexico! I have had parking tickets in Chicago that cost more than that, I was really impressed with the amount of activity and quality you got for the price.
Life is an adventure, and I’m really stoked to have a special day and these photos to prove it.
Disclosure: Thanks to Vallarta Adventures for having us along for this trip as media and being so helpful in making this a great experience. As always, opinions are 100% my own, and you really need to do this adventure!
Looks like so much fun! And a great price for it. Sounds like you all had an awesome trip.
We just did the same outdoor adventure with Vallarta Adventures last week! They did such an awesome job and we really enjoyed the whole trip. And you are right, it was well worth every penny and we also bought the flashdrive with all the pictures.
You two are too cute, love following your travels! Love you!
