Heading Home! My Flight Travel Essentials

December 30, 2014

After a week with family for the holidays, it’s time to hop a flight back to Chicago!  I am attempting to travel savvier this year- usually I’m so busy with preparing arrangements once I arrive here, getting the blog ready or preparing my team at work- I get to the airport and realize I didn’t pack enough stuff to keep me satiated or entertained while in flight.

As much as I’d love to say I can meditate for 3-4 hours, I usually go bonkers on long flights without books or a journal to work on. This time though, I will be prepared.

My Fave Travel Essentials- what I'll be using on the flight home from Christmas vacation!

Yurbuds /  Minimergency Kit  /  iPhone Battery  /  Yes Please! By Amy Poehler  /
Cobble Hill Bag from Kate Spade  /  Naked Palette 2  /  Kind Bars

I’m so excited to finally read Yes Please by my favorite Galentine, Amy Poehler.  I was a huge fan of Bossypants by Tina Fey and pretty much am in love with the fact more funny women are making it on best seller lists after some glowing careers.  The more comediennes we have doing cool things with their talents, the better the world is, in my humble opinion.

My Kate Spade bag has been my go-to (this one above is similar) and so has the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2- they are the best to travel with! Both match whatever I’m wearing and are as tough as my travel days are- making long days schlepping through an airport a little bit prettier.  Also, without the most scrumptious coconut KIND bars in my bag, I would probably be hangry and not pretty, but seriously, they are sooo good…they never get old to me!

What are you travel essentials?

What else should I have in my bag?

Hand sanitizer and wipes! 🙂 especially if you are taking public transportation. Not so glam but oh so necessary!

  2. Andrea says:

definitely hand sanitizer. I also like to keep one of those power stick battery chargers just in case too.

We have almost the same exact essentials — great minds ~~*

I have the first Naked palette and I absolutely love it! It’s so versatile. i’m thinking about getting the smaller palette for travel.

The Naked palettes are awesome! It’s true though – the 2nd one is pretty heavy. I imagine the compact one is easier to stash in a bag.

Great items. I also bring ChapStick, a pizzle book (something easy like Sudoku that doesn’t require batteries), and saline nose spray (which I take and use on each bathroom break) to combat the dry circulated air.

I agree with Megan on her travel essentials. A hand sanitize and wipes are a traveler’s life saver.

Welcome!
