3 Pieces Styled 3 Ways- Our Office & Guest Room w/ Sauder Furniture

September 10, 2014

3 Pieces Styled 3 Ways with Sauder Furniture Our little condo is cozy- most of our space serves multiple purposes.  My office doubles as our guest room and it has been a work in progress since I moved in over a year ago. To me, the best spaces are functional spaces, that can accommodate other purposes.

When working with Sauder Furniture, I was excited to put the final touches on the room with furniture pieces that could fit our budget ($250) and easily be moved or reworked from office, to a space for guests. I originally picked an inspiration room & three pieces of furniture and got to work!

I chose an upholstered storage ottoman for $39, an adorable grey chair for $149, and a white bookshelf for $39.  I had been looking for a chair for this room for several months and had issues finding the right grey.  I crossed my fingers that the ottoman and chair would not be too blue of a grey and ordered!  (I had to return another chair because the site looked grey but it came as a weird chambray..had to return it so I was hoping Sauder’s site would be accurate and it was!)

Look One:  Office

Look 3- Office Look With Sauder Furniture Using the chair, shelving and storage ottoman (tucked to the side) this is the standard look for the room.  It allows me extra storage space and a comfortable space to work.

Look Two:  Guest Nook

Look 1 - A Guest Nook With Sauder Furniture Since the room is rather small, in order to make room for the Aerobed that we use for our guests, I tuck the chair into the corner, and move some of my work things into the closet to make room for the guest linens.  The storage ottoman can be left empty for my guests to use, or, it can also house extra blankets and pillows for the guests to use. Put out some water and a glass, and a small welcome basket with travel sized soaps, shampoo and a washcloth incase they need it. Very quickly, without a lot of clutter or fuss, I’ve made room for my guests and stocked their room for the course of their stay.

Look Three:  Craft Corner

Look 2 - Craft Nook With Sauder Furniture This room also serves another usage- it holds all my junk for craft projects, and is a space I do a lot of crafting, storing and photographing…so it needs to make sense out of clutter, but easily be cleaned up for photoshoots.  Usually, I craft her, have to clean everything up, then photograph the same space when I have blog posts that need to get ready. This final look is a place I love to work.  I can easily craft here, read a book, or use the chair and ottoman as a backdrop for photoshoots, but also to hold my stuff and make it look tidy in a pinch.   Storage Ottoman With Sauder Furniture   The storage ottoman can hold my shoes, my craft supplies, unfinished projects that the dogs would want to chew on if left out- or can easily be moved from room to room if filled with photo props.   I love my new space and love my picks from Sauder Furniture
The room finally makes sense, and it’s highly functional- I love spending time in there, and  you know, Matilda does too.   Matilda Love Sauder Furniture

Our new space is my favorite room in the house.  Having a space that solves the clutter dilemma and also can quickly change function just makes me giddy. I love it!
