I have always loved cowboy boots but felt too shy to wear them since I don’t live on a ranch or live the country lifestyle- then I started to see ladies around Chicago wearing them with a variety of atypical outfits- paired with shorts, girly dresses and plenty of casual tops that didn’t ever seem to include the cliché button ups or skinny jeans.
I admired cowboy boots from afar, but never let the fascination take hold- that is, until I saw nerd-icon & unconventional fashionista, the fictional Amelia Pond rock them in a few episodes of Doctor Who (see here). Amelia is a ballsy redhead, Scottish (read: not a typical cowgirl) and sported them with tights…. my mind was blown and I loved her look so much I had to indulge!
I teamed up with the fabulous people at Justin Boots to get my first pair of cowboy boots…and they had so many to choose from. I finally settled on a versatile but appropriately stylized pair that came complete with gorgeous teal stitching- Stampede Western Justin Boots (which come in several colors) had to be mine!
I couldn’t believe how gorgeous the complete package of Justin Boots was when they arrived! The box, wrapping and packaging was so girly it felt like I’d just opened up a pair of Christian LouBoutons, not cowboy boots- total luxury! I still have the box to keep summer momentos in… that’s how much I loved it!
As for the Justin Boots themselves, I was impressed with the quality. The detail on these boots are totally gorgeous- they have style without being over the top and are versatile but have a touch of girly flair, just the right amont of everything for a first time cowboy boot wearer!
The soles had great tread, and the stitching on the boots was sturdy but elegant, adding a touch of style and durability. I could instantly tell that after breaking these in, they’d be my go-to pair for a long time.
I love cowboy because they’re an investment piece- you get a versatile pair and the comfort and styling options will hold up over time with these great boots. I wore these out for a few hours and once you wear them in, they lose their stiffness and fit like a glove.
I’ve heard cowboy boots from Ariat are also notoriously comfortable and durable, but you’ll have to try them for yourself.
Fall Trends I Recommend To Pair With Cowboy Boots:
- Pair with distressed leggings or skinny jeans for an easy on-trend outfit for nightime.
- For day looks, pair cowboy boots with cute socks or lace boot toppers.
- Dresses aren’t off limit! Shirt dresses & sweater knits would be perfect!
Do you dare to wear cowboy boots?
I LOOOOVE me some cowboy boots! And those you chose are just gorgeous! That teal stitching is to die for. The main boot I’m looking for, for fall is the tall, flat riding boot. Going on the hunt on Monday! Any recommendations?
I actually got a pair of Timberland riding boots that I just adore… I found that they took some breaking in but they really are fab! I always find that boot shopping requires some research since the fit can be a bit off depending on what you need the boot for…I’ve made the mistake of going to industrial (where they look cool but are impossible for urban wear if you need to walk long distances)
You inspired me today. I’m now rocking my cowboy boots, a tweedy skirt and sweater. =)
Lookin’ good! I don’t know why I was ever hesitant to incorporate cowboy boots into my fall lineup, they’re fabulous and so versatile!
I recently moved from San Antonio, Texas to State College, Pennsylvania and I didn’t realize cowboy boots were a trend. They are a staple in Texas. Can you believe I lived in Texas for 7 years and didn’t buy a pair a cowboy boots? I had a Justin Cowboy Boots store within walking distance from my house!
Hahah, I know… when I moved from a rural area of California to the bustling city of Chicago, I noticed cowboy boots really, for the first time as “trendy fashion,” and finally decided to get a pair!
There might be something wrong with your RSS. You should have somebody have a look at the site.
I’ve been looking at cowboy boots online since last winter but I’m 48 and feel like i might be too old to wear them. I actually live in south Florida so we can only wear boots in November and December, but I do love boots. I also love teal and been dreaming about a teal pair. I don’t know if I would actually ever buy them.
