Beauty Review: Drug Store vs. Dept. Store Gels

June 2, 2011

I am all about getting the best products for your money- so I was totally excited when I was contacted by the lovely people at Garnier to do a comparison between their Moisture Gel and that of a department store brand!

The Moisture Gels:

Gariner Moisture Refreshing Gel-Cream – $7.99 available at CVS or local drugstores
(Link to Product at Amazon.com)

Light fragrance, easy application, cooling on the skin.  Lives up to the “refreshing name.”

Clinique Moisture Surge Gel Creme – $34.00 available at department stores

(Link to Product at Amazon.com)

No fragrance (or at least a bit lighter), easy on the skin, dries quickly.

Both gels were very nice, but what’s great about the Garnier is that you pay less, but the product is comparable to the department store brand- so it’s great for those of us who need an extra supplement to our summer skin care but would like to pay a bit less to do so!  I admittedly haven’t purchased “drug store” brands in a long time for my skin care- but I was pleasantly surprised!

I would highly recommend to anyone that you invest in a good gel for the summer months to provide light moisturization after time spent in the sun and surf.

Gels are fabulous f0r summer since they don’t clog pores and aren’t sticky for those of us living in humid climates.  Pop a gel in the fridge for an greater skin refreshment and relaxation before you apply!
