Don’t Apologize For Your {albeit unfrugal} Bliss

October 28, 2011

Don’t ever feel bad for loving what you love. Those silly pastimes, those odd quirks, those weird little childhood leftovers.  Own them, they are you.

Follow your passions, no matter how silly.  Make it a point to delve into child-like simple joys that others will never understand.

Nobody can live your life for you.  Not everyone will know what makes you smile.  Be unapologetically you and don’t be sorry about what makes you happy…

…just live your life, take lots of pictures and tell a good story.   You don’t owe anyone  an explaination for your bliss.  Dedicate yourself to living a happy life on your own terms, it will do the talking.

{My recent impromptu trip to Disneyland with my long time friend Chris from October got me thinking of all the time I’ve spent trying to explain myself to people when instead I would be much happier being unapologetically *me* – my fears, my hopes, my goals- they’re who I am and I’ve made peace with who I am.  Being my frugal-self means I can spend my money on what matters and hopefully, it’ll give me more time to spend it with the people that matter.}

P.S. Thanks Chris for a surprise early Christmas present!

  1. Shannyn, I love this post. It's so true. We should just relax and enjoy what we do. Why explain? I also find that when I prioritize my spending I can do more of the things I enjoy. Why spend a lot of money on things that have little meaning to us? Keep on living your life!

    By the way, you seem to have no competition to win the book giveaway!

    Awesome post! Made me smile and feel good about all the impromtu things that I've done and spent some money on. Sometimes I regret, sometimes I don't. Loved your pictures. You look happy and obviously you had a blast. 🙂
