3 Steps to White Teeth for $20 or less

May 28, 2011

If you want blinding white Suze Orman teeth, you need to seek a professional.  If you’re a DIY-er like myself who loves frugal beauty and  just want your pearly whites to look fab  for cheap- you can do it my way for $20 and in three steps.

    1. Target: With a coupon, go grab some at-home whitening strips.  Do this every day as directed (or as much as you can handle, teeth get kind of senstive) and you’ll notice that you’re teeth are a tad bit whiter.  My favorite strips are actually Target brand I’ve tried the name brands, but I found that I don’t like the flimsy kind that are intended to wear on-the-go.  I never wear my strips out anyway, and I hate that they’re so thin they don’t stay put.  Target brand is a bit thicker and the wax strips mold to your teeth they stay put, even if they’re conspicuous.

    1. Prevent: Be sure to brush your teeth after drinking or eating things that stain–  ESPECIALLY coffee and tea.  Have you ever noticed that if you leave coffee in a cup for a few hours, it leaves a brown residue?  My dental hygienist pointed this out-  the tannins in tea and coffee can do that to your teeth over time, but of course, a good scrubbing will alleviate the stain power, much like scrubbing a coffee cup.

  1. Maintain: After concluding the whitening strips, give your gums and teeth a week or two to heal, as they might be sensitive.  Then, once a week, follow up with a paste blend of peroxide and baking soda.  For about $1.30 you can keep your teeth looking fabulous for months.  Do NOT do more than 1-2 times a week!

Heya, just found your blog – cool stuff! 🙂 Question for you – have you tried *drinking* hydrogen peroxide, a few drops in a bottle of water, for better skin? I haven't tried it myself, but I'm curious!

I haven\’t tried it, it kind of makes me nervous, then again- brushing with hydrogen peroxide did too!

Hmm, it makes me nervous, too – I think I'd want more evidence that it's a good thing before trying it. Still curious though. 🙂

  7. I know of the fact that nowadays, more and more people are being attracted to surveillance cameras and the field of photography. However, being photographer, you have to first invest so much of your time deciding which model of dslr camera to buy in addition to moving store to store just so you may buy the least expensive camera of the brand you have decided to select. But it does not end just there. You also have to contemplate whether you should obtain a digital camera extended warranty. Thanks alot : ) for the good suggestions I gained from your blog.

Welcome!
