The Best DIY Beauty Products For You To Make At Home...High-End, Homemade Cosmetics & Skincare!

Although I identify myself as resourceful, I never believed I was a true member of the Do-It-Yourselfer Club. Making my own toothpaste? Concocting a face mask I could eat? I’ll pass. That is, until I ran out of my favorite lotion one exceptionally cold morning and was left with a spare jar of coconut oil stored away in a kitchen cabinet.

After a quick Google search followed by a messy ten minutes, I realized that my skin felt way more moisturized and softer than when I resorted to my lavender-body-smoothing whatchamacallit. After all, I was mostly paying a hefty price for the pretty bottles and persuasive advertising rather than the product itself. As I began experimenting more and more, I realized how cheap it was to buy ingredients in bulk and mix my own creations when needed.

Not only did I see improvements in my sensitive skin, but I was making far less last minute trips to Target. These are my favorite homemade beauty item recipes with six ingredients or less that I use every single day.

Homemade-shampoo-with-essential-oils
Homemade Shampoo from Shalomma

Although I try to limit hair washing to twice a week (mostly due to laziness THB), this shampoo added so much moisture back into my scalp that I started using it every other day. You can pick the scent you like and tailor it to your specific hair needs.

toner Facial Toner from Say Not Sweet Anne

I keep a bottle of this at work and in my fridge at home. Not only does it have a refreshing pick-me-up scent after a stressful afternoon meeting, but I can also dab it on my face without messing up my makeup. Pimples be gone. Foundation, you can stay.

Cinnamon Vanilla Body Scrub from Little House Living

Although this product sounds more like a delicious breakfast cake, the ingredients do wonder to dry elbows and tough heels. This is a great one to bottle up in mason jars with a fancy ribbon to pass on as gifts!

Natural Teeth Whitening Toothpaste from Dig Primal

Although the dark black color is alarming at first, I promise that no toothpaste will remove stains as efficiently as this one. Feel free to add in a drop or two of peppermint oil if that helps to ease the transition!

whipped-body-butter-recipe-2
Whipped Body Butter from The Prairie Homestead

Eerily reminiscent of whipped cream, this body butter is what would happen if your favorite chocolate mousse reincarnated itself into a luxurious moisturizer. No spoon necessary.

diy-acne-face-mask
DIY Acne Mask from Dear Crissy

If you’re all about the tingling sensation to get your pores super clean, this mask is perfect for you. You can buy a big tub of clay for under $5 that’ll last you for months.

Homemade Makeup Remover Pads from Redefined Mom

There was nothing quite as life-changing than discovering we could wash our faces without even standing up. For those nights when getting to the sink is just too much, these DIY pads are perfect for wiping away the gunk of the day.

Homemade Eye Shadow and Blush from Simple Life Mom
While I’ve only attempted to use activated charcoal as eye liner, these natural powders would be a blast to experiment with! Even more fun, wet an angled brush and dip into chosen powder for an original eyeliner.

10-Minute-DIY-Milk-Honey-Soap
10 Minute Milk and Honey Soap from Happiness Homemade

Calming milk to relax sensitive skin with honey added as an antibacterial, this soap is the real deal. Try different soap molds to change it up!

Homemade Wrinkle Cream from Frugal Coupon Living

When I noticed my first set of laugh lines setting in, I’ll admit I wasn’t exactly embracing aging so gracefully. But after seeing the $100+ for creams that promised to completely change my life more or less, I needed an alternative. A thin layer of this homemade creation is all you need to moisturize and firm skin right up!

What beauty product are you most likely to try and make yourself?
Body scrubs are my favorite place to start. You can make a simply scrub with as little as tow ingredients! Almond oil and Epsom salt are some of my favorites.

The milk and honey soap looks like it’s from a store, so cute! I wonder how tough it is to make???

Surprisingly simple! I found it easiest to order the ingredients on Amazon (including cute soap molds to use again and again). After that, it was just a matter of mixing it up!

  4. I might have to try some of these. They sound awesome!

Welcome!
